Happy Fourth of July!!

'Made In the USA'

Sunday we enjoyed ourselves on the lake celebrating my sweet baby turning 10 months old. We weren't sure how he was going to react in a boat,but he loved it! It was such a beautiful day. He loved getting to help PawPaw drive the boat and being outside. He is going to be such the waterbug next year. He just splashes and splashes. He got tired after a few hours but would NOT go down for a nap until we got in the car to go home. Later that night we enjoyed BBQ and family at GiGi and PawPaw's. Tobby's uncle has only seen Trace once and he was amazed at how much he had grown since Christmas. Needless to say Trace had a wonderful almost 1 year old birthday!

Monday we tried to go out on the water again but it was really choppy and windy. There was a storm coming in about an hour after we docked so we had to end the trip. Our night was celebrated at the Munford fireworks show. Trace didn't like the fireworks one bit! In fact he fell asleep with my hand over his ear. He is truly my son!! It was a fun but tiring weekend. I'm kind of glad it's over and now we can get back on our normal schedules-nap and bottle!!

Birthday Party and Ten Months.

What an eventful weekend we've had. Saturday we spent the afternoon with one of my oldest and dearest best friends EVER! Her little girl,Lynlee, is just a few months older than Trace and she turned 1!!! It's such a wonderful blessing to be able to share such a great love with someone you've known since you were just as small. We swam,cooked out,laughed and just had so much fun. I cannot wait to celebrate my baby boy's big day with everyone. Just two more months!! Trace and Lynlee didn't really like eating the cake. They had too much fun playing in it.

Man where in the world has the time gone?! Trace, this month you have really come out of your shell. You have mastered crawling! I wish you would just stop and let mama rest for a bit!! You weigh 22 pounds and are in a size 5 diaper. You are starting to pull up on EVERYTHING. It's kind of scary at times. You have ditched baby food all together. Hot dogs and bananas are your favorite choice of food. You will be going on your first airplane ride/vacation next weekend. Mama is a little nervous. But we'll make it. When MaeMae is around you 'scream' at her. It's the cutest thing in the world. It's ya'll's way of communicating!!

9 Months

You have become such a big boy this month!

You are trying to crawl (FINALLY!!).

You only want to eat "grown-up" food and only eat baby food for breakfast.

You said 'Ma-ma' and melted my heart.

You can "motor boat" with your mouth and fingers. It's the sweetest thing ever.

You're in 6-9 month clothes and they're getting snug.

You're in a size 5 diaper.

You weigh 22 lbs now!

You are IN LOVE with the swimming pool and have become an outside addict.

We only have 3 months until you're 1 and I'm wishing time would slow down more now that I ever have. I don't want my 'baby' to grow up. But these have been the BEST nine monts I've ever known.

8 Months

Another month has come and gone so quickly.

This month:

You have 2 teeth! And they're the most precious things I've ever seen.

You're in a size 4 diaper.

You're in mostly 6-9 months. 6 months are getting snug.

You still haven't mastered crawling,but you do know how to put food in your mouth :)

We are trying to introduce a sippy cup--but you always end up with a ba-ba (bottle).

Four more fastly approaching months and you'll be a big boy.

Easter Eggs and FourWheelers

This was Trace's first Easter,but it looks like he had a good one!

He woke up to a dancing Mickey (that seems to be the only thing to make him happy in Wal*Mart!),lots of goodies in his "basket" and a sit-to-stand toy. We went to church with his Grammy & Grampy this morning and left daddy and home to sleep. --He got a new job and has had to work lots of ovetime.-- After church we went to my Granny's to eat Sunday dinner and hunt Easter eggs. He isn't walking YET so I carried him and helped him "hunt". The first egg I picked up was a plastic one that looked like a rockstar. It has been his favorite toy thus far! After we ate lunch,hunted eggs,and Trace napped we went on to Tobby's parent's for dinner.

Trace always has so much fun at GiGi's & PawPaw's. Him and MaeMae play and play and play. They bought him a walker and he hung out in it for awhile,but soon got bored with it. PawPaw decided to get the four-wheeler out and see what he would do. BIG MISTAKE! He loved it. They must've rode that thing for two hours. He cried when MaeMae tried to ride him. He only wanted PawPaw. I would say this day was a fun one for him. One that I'll never forget.

7 Months

Another month older. You are changing by the day now sweet boy. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking of it all. You're 1st birthday party planning is coming along great. This month--

You're in a size 4 diaper.

You're 6 month clothes are too small but 9 month clothes are a tad too big.

You weigh 18 pounds.

We can see you're first tooth coming in and you don't like it at all!

You want to "walk" all the time and scream when you don't get your way.

You are starting to roll over again and can get on your knees and "rock".

You have started to throw your head back on a regular basis. I hope this is just for fun. It scares ma-ma!!

Most days you're such a happy baby but just like everyone else you have your bad ones. I cannot believe that you have grown so much. Sometimes I wish I had a pause button so I could hold you like this forever. I love you (not so) baby Trace!!

So Much Blogging..Such Little Time

It has been so crazy around here lately. I feel like I never get anything accomplished anymore. Having a very grumpy,clingy,teething baby doesn't help much either. I'm going to try to do better and get at least one blog post done a week. Let's hope this works. I need to document as much of Trace's little life as I can. I don't want to forget ANYTHING about it.

Trace and his PawPaw

Sunday we had a lunch/birthday party for Trace's great grandma's 60th! birthday. It's so nice to be able to celebrate these special times with our family. I'm so happy that Trace has such a huge family because he will always know he is loved so much. I never got to know my great grandparents but I hope Trace does. We are trying to let them see him every chance we get. It wa such a pretty day Sunday so I let him wear one of his many outfits that we recieved at our shower. (His cute sandals were only $1.50 at Once Upon A Child!!) He wasn't very happy being inside. I think he knew how beautiful it was outside because that's the only place he wanted to be. Halfway There..

You are SIX months Trace! Where in the world has the time gone?! It seems like just yesterday I was at the doctor for the last time. But it has been six of the most amazing months I will ever know. You've grown up so much since last month:

You are sitting up by yourself now! GO YOU!!
You can "sip" from a cup and drink from a sippy cup.
You have found your tongue. You always have it sticking out.
You are in a size four diaper.
You're in 6-9 month clothes all around.
You love being outside and I canNOT wait to get you in the pool.
You are sill trying to figure out how to roll over-but I don't think it'll be much longer.

We are HALF-WAY to celebrating yor first birthday party. Just thinking of it makes me want to cry. I am so happy God chose us to have you. You are my sweet lovie from Heaven and I don't know what I would do without you. I love you so so much.

"Future Mr. Right"

This was the first holiday that Tobby hasn't been able to celebrate with us since Trace's arrival. He has been in Texas for a week now due to work. We are hoping that changes very very soon. On the bright side,Trace and I have had quite the day! He slept from 7:30 PM to 4:00 AM and then woke up around 7:40 AM. This mommy feels wonderful and fully rested :) He took a three hour nap and while I should have been cleaning,I sat my little bottom on the couch and didn't move 'til I heard his whimpers. Tobby and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day because he's never in town and the mood to celebrate has passed when he does get home. But I bought Trace a few gifts. Mainly just for his scrapbook and future stories! His Grammy (my mom) bought him the cute frog balloon at the Dollar Tree on our outing this past week. Saturday,Tobby's parents,GiGi and PawPaw,watched Trace for a few hours so I could get some stuff done and have some much needed mommy time. I put in my 31 party,which did awesome!,went to run a few errands and to Wal-Mart. I really couldn't figure out what to get Trace since he is JUST 5 months old. So I decided on a cute little puppy and a soft dinosaur book he could "read" now. He was more interested in chewing on it that "reading" it tho!

What a weekend we have had at the Gray house! Saturday was my Kelly's Kids party (which I got $40 FREE!) and Tobby had woken up with a sore throat and cough. Trace had been a little fussy through the whole party,but I thought he was just overwhelmed with all the people here! We got through Sunday without any problems-Wal*Mart and everything! But Monday were we in for it! Tobby decided he had enough and went to the doctor. He has high blood pressure-probably due to stress-and the....FLU. Uh-oh..the only thing I could think of was Trace and Drake (since he was here Saturday). Drake is fine but Trace-well we ended up going to the doctor later that afternoon. His white blood cells were elevated which meant he has a virus. He's on Tamiflu once a day for ten days. Today he has started coughing and is really very congested. Poor thing! But he's not in a bad mood. Thank goodness. I'm glad that we caught his virus before it got any worse. Momma just couldn't stand for her baby to cry for no reason and at the top of his lungs too!

It snowed! I was beginning to think he wouldn't have any "first snow" pictures in his scrapbook. The weather here is so crazy. I'm not quite sure how much we got but it stuck around for a few days. Trace couldn't play in it this year considering he's only four months old,but I did get a few pictures! His first snow!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Trace had such a wonderful first Christmas. Since my parents are divorced we have seven places to go all in two days! I didn't take any pictures of his presents but I am going to put them all together and take one big picture. I will post that later. We celebrate Christmas at my Granny's the Sunday before Christmas since we have such a huge family. We went to my step-mom's family on Christmas eve. This is the first time many of them have met or even seen Trace. Needless to say,he was a hit! Christmas morning we woke up to a few Santa gifts under the tree. Tobby cooked breakfast for his parents and my aunt and uncle. Tobby's grandparent's were next. His uncle had been away since Trace was born so this was the first time for him to meet him too. Four generations of Gray's.

After we left Tobby's grandparent's we ventured out to Lakeland. My step-dad's sister and daughter live out there. It's so nice to have such a big family (sometimes). It was a wonderful first Christmas as a family of three but next year will be much better. I can't wait to see how big those brown eyes will get when he sees Santa's presents!

For New Year's this year we celebrated at the in-laws. Usually they have a huge get together in the shop down from their house. But I guess everyone else had other plans. The guys minus Trace played bags in the shop and the girls stayed inside where it was warm and played Just Dance on the Wii and watched movies. Trace and I feel asleep on the couch around 10:30. We woke up around 12:00 but just long enough to jump in the bed!

Three Months

Your naps have come few and far between.
You wake up at 7 A.M. on a dailiy basis. But go to bed between 8-8:30.

You are in a size 2 diaper.
You have become your own person.

Two Months and Thanksgiving

Our first outing without Trace was a hard one. My dad,Poppa,bought two tickets to the Memphis vs Tennessee game. He invited Tobby to go but the night before came down with something horrible and gave me his ticket. It was November 6. Trace stayed with his GiGi and PawPaw that night. I had never been away from him but longer than an hour. I thought about him the whole night. I had fun but was very ready to get home to my love. This was my second college game and like the first,I just wasn't "into it". While we were at the game Tobby decided he wanted to make this a tradition for Trace to keep for years to come. So for his birthday EVERY year we are going to take him to Knoxville to watch the VOLS play. This year we will get to go on the field and meet Smokey,the cheerleaders,and hopefully the coach! Mommy and Daddy at the game.

HALLOWEEN! This is your first holiday! Actually,Labor day was-but you were only three days old. And there's really no way to "celebrate" it. You were a mouse for Halloween! Lynlee Kercher let you have the costume because she was too big to fit into it. Aunt Jessi bought you the very first holiday shirt that she will continue to buy. It's ya'll's very own tradition. We celebrated Halloween at our house with the Vandiver's and Goode's. Drake was a pumpkin and Dalton was a tiger. We thought you guys were too small to go trick-or-treating so we'll save that for next year. It was a wonderful first holiday!

One Month

Trace you are ONE month old! My how fast the time does fly. I can't believe how much you have changed in just one short month.

You are in newborn sized clothes. They're just a tad too big!
You are in newborn diapers. We prefer to use the Pampers brand.
You have had quite a number of visitors. I hope one day you realize just how loved you are.
You are eating 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. Enfamil Lipil is the formula you are on.
You have had jaundice but we think it's fading away.
We found out that you are anemic.
You have already to been to Wal*Mart. Get used to it!

Happy Birthday Trace

What an eventful day. I had just hit my 37 week mark. I was going in for the second OB appointment that week. I had high blood pressure and had to have test done every two days to make sure Trace was okay. On this particular day I noticed that Trace hadn't been moving as much as usual-but how could he with the limited amount of space he had in my tiny tummy! They checked my bp and it was extremely high. I immediately had to have an ultrasound to check on our little bundle. No movement at all. To an exam room we went. I was 2 centimeters dialted. This is what we've been waiting for. We're about to have a baby! I checked in about 11:30 and got pitocin and magnesium started in my IV. I don't remember much about the day except for the excruciating pain that woke me from my sleep. CONTRACTIONS!! So I got the epidural and waited. It didn't take long for me to start dialating. 5..8..10! I pushed thru two contractions and 45 minutes later was holding the most precious little soul. Trace was born at 9:59 PM September 3,2010. Last picture as just "the two of us".

One Year Later

Today marks the first year anniversary that we found out our lives were going to be changed FOREVER. It has been one of the most amazing years. Watching Trace grow and feeling him kick in my belly was so undescribable. But nothing compares to holding him in my arms for the first time. So many things changed during this journey n our lives. We gained so many new friends who also welcomed little boy bundles around the same time! i can't wait to grow up with Trace and see how much he will change in the years to come. Here are pictures of he and I in our growing!

WOW! It sure has been awhile since I have been able to blog. First, we did not have the availability of the internet for awhile and second, moving into our new house has not given me the chance to be online too much. We are now settled and I should be back to our regularly scheduled blogging sooner than later! There sure is a lot that has been happening in the Gray household. I got a new job. I am working in Bartlett at a pediactric doctor's office Tuesday-Thursday every week. It's not much,but it's more than what I had. We BOUGHT a new house in Randolph. It is three bedrooms and two baths and much bigger than our rental house! We are so happy to finally be paying for something that is ours and that we can paint and hang pictures up on our own walls. We had our ONE YEAR anniversary as husband and wife on October 11th. There are just so many new things happening all at once! I will have pictures up of the house sooner than later!

Velma Ann Hill Durham

July 26.1945-March 29.2009

Well..this is probably one of the hardest things to think and write.But look at it as a memorial of her.She was a very very wonderful woman and will be missed terribly. She had such a big heart and cared for anyone and everyone in her life. To answer the "Big Question"..Yes she did pass away at the church. She was at Sunday night service at the Brighton First Assembly of God giving her testimony. She was talking about how her brother had found the Lord a couple of weekends ago when she was visiting with him.She got done talking,bowed her head and closed her eyes and the good Lord took her. She was a good Christian woman and I know that she is now resting with Him in her home in the sky. She is with her husband,my PawPaw,Jimmy V. Durham and they are both looking down on us and watching our every move. I know that one day I will see her again and I think that is what I somewhat get peace from.I love(d) her soo soo much and miss her terribly. But everything will be okay in time. I love you MawMaw and watch over us,Angel.

Bad Timing.

We got married on October 11 and went to Destin,Florida for our honeymoon on the 15th.We had such an awesome time.We got to go parasailing,ride sea-doos with the dolphins,and relax on the beach for a week straight!It was so beautiful down there.While we were there we took a break from laying on the beach and took some great pictures.These are just a few of my favorite.Sorry they are so late!

Today was the second of snow days that we have had this year.But the most we've had in a long time! We had five inches at our house!Although Tobby and I didn't get out in it we loved watching the girls play in it.The first "potty break" didn't go to well.But the rest of the day was a breeze.They loved it.Tobby brought in a handful of snow and let the girls eat it out of his hand and after that all they wanted to do was go outside and eat,eat,eat some more.Macie liked running and watching Zoey chase after her and fall in her tracks.After the sun went down the snow was paked together and it was much easier for them to walk on it.Zoey would pounce and then fall deep into the snow.It was wonderful to enjoy this beautiful day with my loves..I am just ready for it to go away!

Well...Today has been a pretty rough one.Tobby came home early yesterday from work complaining of coughing and stuffy nose.He went to the doctor and they gave him a shot and some meds and told him he had a severe sinus infection.I'm not sure if he slept good last night,but I do know that I did NOT.I was awake all night due to his coughing and sniffling.This morning he woke up and said he could not breathe and was coughing even more.His head was very warm and he said he didn't want to go to work.So I called in for him.As the day progressed he got worse.By the end of the day he had taken a shower and his fever was higher than yesterday.I ran all over town today getting him this and that.I went to get him some Tylenol and swung by the Movie Gallery.While we were watching the movies I got we had a knock on the door.It was the little girls from next door and down the street.They greeted me with huge smiles,handfuls of daffodils and six golf balls! They said "Are these golf balls yours?"Tobby had a huge smile on his face and said "Yea I hit 'em back there."I took them out of their hands and they said "We picked these flowers for you too."How sweet of those two little girls whom I have only met once while calling Macie and Zoey in from barking at them.God really knew that we needed a little pick me up.It's amazing how one little deed from someone you have never met before can change your whole outlook on the day.They were definitely my angels in disguise today! They say you see Jesus in someone everyday.And I guess today I did see my Jesus!

Monday Smyrna Baptist's WMU invited Sarah and Andrew Stonecipher to eat dinner at Chili's in Millington.I do not attend this church anymore,but did when Sarah and Jonathon were ministering there.Since I hadn't seen Sarah and Andrew in a long time I tagged along!(Tobby tagged along too.)He didn't want to sit at home and was getting kind of hungry.When Andrew seen him he immediately got a huge smile on his face and pointed to the TV and said "Ball".It was so cute.It was nice to catch up and enjoy their company.Andrew is really getting big.It's crazy how time flies when you don't see someone every day.We love them so much and are praying for the two of them every day.

Saturday,Feburary 21,we went to eat for Aunt Judy's --th birthday.Since it was her birthday she got to pick where to go eat.And she picked Shoguns in Memphis.It was amazing!And I think it is so cool the things those guys can do with all of that food.We ordered our meals and they were yummy,but while we were waiting on them to get done we also got to eat rice,veggies,and soup&salad.If we could do that for every birthday we go to I think I would like going to them a little more!

Well..Today we signed the lease to a new rental house!It is on Tommy Lane in Atoka. We are very happy that we get to move back to Tipton County and be close to our families again.The house is owned by our preacher and his wife,Brother Keithel and Mrs. Joyce Boothe.We have been praying about finding something back home and the Lord has answered our prayers once again.It is a two bedroom,one bath home (with carpet!).And there is a pretty good size yard for our little girls to run around in. We will put pictures up as soon as we get all moved in. Until then..God Bless.

Happy Birthday Daddy!(Hailey's dad)&Happy Early Birthday to Megan Gray(Tobby's sister)for tomorrow!I know this is a couple of days late but we have been very busy. Hailey has been getting ready to go back to school. She started on the 12th and as of right now it is very tough. But the good news is she gets to use her books for absolutely everything! Tobby is still on eight hour days and is off on Mondays. He starts leaving to go out of town during the first week of Feburary. Zoey and Macie are wonderful (for those who love to know!). Zoey is almost three months old and is very irritating. We still haven't gotten around to potty-training her but we are working on it. By the looks of it our year has started off and is going pretty good. We hope to have many of stories to talk about it this year. Until then.. Have a Blessed Day!

We had a wonderful Christmas and we hope everyone else did too. This was our first Christmas as husband and wife,but our second toegther. We have such a big family so we had to split our Christmases up between three different days. We were rushed to do everything but it's kind of fun! We love our big families! We had Christmas Eve at Hailey's Maw-Maw and Pop's in Ripley. We take "Nem" pictures and this was our first year to take them without everyone else.

We had Christmas at Hailey's dad&step-mom's on Christmas Eve morning. The breakfast was delicious and Tobby tried chocolate gray for the first time. He loved it so much he wants the recipe!

Hailey's cousin Megan got married to PJ in June and he is in the navy and is stationed in North Carolina. They got to come home for the holidays and we were so excited to see them.

We got a new Miniature Dachshund.This is Hailey's Christmas present from Tobby.Her name is Santa's Zoey-Girl Jaden Gray.She is red/boar.She was 8 weeks when we got her and oh so tiny.She hasn't grown so much but you can tell she eats!Macie didn't like her so much when she came home,but now she is so protective of our little one.They are wonderful sisters and have the biggest hearts ever.
